will be in attendance at a party given in her honor during the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate the achievements of this visionary filmmaker. She has earned an esteemed award, which will be presented to her while at Cannes.

Her captivating short documentary, Animation: A Palette of Possibilities, explores the past, present and future of animation, and to date has won over eight awards as it continues to be accepted into illustrious film festivals throughout the US and abroad. The film is a whirlwind tour of some of the animators who brought to life beloved classics such as Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, Pete’s Dragon, Mulan and The Princess and the Frog. With interviews from artists such as Academy Award nominee Joe Hale, renowned artist Ron Dias, and many others, the film uncovers inspirational stories and advice from those who have achieved their dreams.

Angela got her start at the age of six on stage as a children’s magician, performing comedy magic shows internationally. “I really think that helped me get a good sense of what kids all over the world enjoy… what makes them laugh,” recalls Angela. As the years progressed, she worked both in front of and behind the camera on a children’s series that aired in select television markets throughout the US. “The director of the show taught me many aspects of the industry and allowed me the opportunity to write and produce many of the episodes during the four year run,” Angela recounts.

Angela had the good fortune of being mentored by such Hollywood legends as the late Frank Capra, Jr. who was the president of Screen Gems Studios, Academy Award nominee Joe Hale, former Paramount studio executive Bud Filippo, and well-known writer Kermit Frazier. She is most inspired by the work of the late producer/writer/director John Hughes. “There is a timeless quality to his work. Not only did he make families laugh, but he kept them laughing for a generation,” she explains.

So, what’s next for this innovative filmmaker? “My heart and passion will always be family-friendly entertainment,” continues Angela. “I have so many new development ideas; I would love to team up with companies interested in new shows and films for families. I want to create films and television shows that kids aren’t embarrassed to have their parents watch and vice-versa.” Her appearance here at Cannes reveals that this successful producer will continue to reach out and impact the lives of others through the mediums of film and television for many generations to come.
