Michael Madsen’s latest star turn is in the Brazen Bull

IFQ: What is a Brazen Bull?
Gregg Luckman: [Laughs.] It’s a medieval torture device during the time of the Spanish Inquisition. If a person had been bad, they’d knock him over the head to knock him out briefly, cut open a bull and remove its insides, stuff the person in the bull and sew it up and then slow roast the bull over an open flame…that’s a Brazen Bull.

IFQ: Michael Madsen hasn’t been seen torturing another person since his iconic performance in Reservoir Dogs. Will he be torturing someone in this film? If so, what an homage that is!
Gregg: Yes, he will…he will…Michael Madsen’s character tortures mainly the character Tyler (played by actor/producer David Frank Fletcher Jr.) throughout the film. Also, he psychologically tortures Lauren (Jennifer Tisdale) and another character played by Gwendolyn Garver…so the iconic Michael Madsen is both tortured and the torturer in this one.

IFQ: Brazen Bull also stars Jennifer Tisdale (Bring It On: In It to Win It) and supermodel Rachel Hunter (TV series Gravity). How did that come about?
David Frank Fletcher Jr.: I had a very long standing relationship with Bill Perlman, who manages Jennifer Tisdale’s sister Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical) and he thought Jennifer would be perfect for the role of Lauren. I thought she would bring a lot of life to the picture. It was my first motion picture as a producer, and then I thought Rachel Hunter would be a great fit to then come in and play Tisdale’s mother. All of this came about from an existing relationship and long time friendship with Perlman.

IFQ: The film Brazen Bull drops nationwide November 9th! Where can we find it?
Gregg and David: Netflix, Blockbuster, Amazon and VOD. It will be in 43 million households on demand courtesy of Verizon, Time Warner, Comcast and Cablevision—even the Armed Forces.

David: Michael and I are flying to Texas to donate Michael’s latest publication to the soldiers at Fort Hood and sign DVD copies.

IFQ: So what’s next for the Producing team?
Gregg and David: We are working on a picture to produce called Stray Bullet.

David: I am also producing a picture called Murder for Dummies, which stars Kiowa Gordon (Embry Call- Twilight Saga Series Wolfpack Star) with Russ Russo (Donner Pass) and Kevin Interdonato (Blue Collar Boys) as well as several other films on the slate. You’ll be seeing much more of us yet!
